I went ahead an added a fabric texture to the font on the front and the spine (trying to match what the uniform fabric looked like).  Here is the example:

I'm not quite sure about it though.  Maybe a metallic look?  Let me know what you think.

Okay, I got to looking at it and I didn't care for the clothing overlay on the fonts.  I decided to try a few different styles and found one I like.  Here is the result:

I am liking the silverish style underneath the blue color (along with the silver/grey outline) much better.  Let me know if I can make it better.

In the meantime, here is what I have for the back (don't worry about the white.  like the original series I will be making a version with the starfield on the back).  I found some artwork that were used to make a series of plates based off of iconic episodes so I decided to use that to shape the episode list around.  Please ignore the use of the photo from 'The Cage' I will replace that with an episode pic later.
