Learning the hard way

Yesterday, an old Clint Eastwood film was being played repeatedly on one of the cable channels. It's one I'll always stop to watch if I see it on. It's The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)./

I only bring it up because I was struck when I checked the listing for it & it showed the year as 1976. I assumed they were mistaken & went to check it on IMDb, but they showed the same thing, 1976.

Now, I happen to know for a fact that my wife & I saw this in a theater in downtown Salt Lake City on July 19th, 1975. I know the exact date (even the time, but I'm not sharing that here) because it was the very next day after we were married. Not exactly a date one would forget easily.

So, I'm just wondering why IMDb (& the cable channel) have the wrong release year listed for this film, which was unquestionably released a year earlier. Maybe it was a limited release & didn't count until the following year, when it may have been released for wide distribution?

Maybe it's just a simple mistake & the cable channel simply used what they got from IMDb?

Regardless, it's odd that I know for a fact this film was out in 1975, yet is reported as being released in 1976!

Got my gun permit yesterday.... and went over to the local Bass Pro Shop to get a small 9mm for concealed carry.

When I was ready to pay for the gun and bullets, the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."

Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control wackos running amuck, I did just as she had instructed.

When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out

she was referring to how I should place my credit card in the card reader!!!

I've been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.

They need to make their instructions to seniors a little clearer!!!
