Worn down by her husband's extramarital affairs and the pressures of being in the public eye, Princess Diana is dreading spending the holidays with the royal family. She arrives in Sandringham overjoyed to see her young sons, but understanding that the retreat requires the illusion of a happy marriage. The typical merriment of feasting, shooting and drinking commences but she cannot commit to pretending all is well. As she struggles through the festivities, Diana's anxiety and depression spiral out of control. She must make a decision that could have devastating consequences for not only her family, but the throne of England itself.
