Saw "Love Hotel" yesterday. Good movie. Also saw "Fareweel to the Land". Now this last one is d'awesome! It's a masterpiece. I give it four stars, outta five

Sleepless (2017) is one of those movies that needed to be a lot better to make much of an impression. This story of a Las Vegas police officer trying to recover his kidnapped son from bad guys is frustrating because it is not-terrible. It has great action sequences, the performances are all decent, but it just did not come together in the story-line which is the weak point of the whole thing. Still it was not the worst film I have seen by a long shot lol.

Finished watching the last(really last, it's over) of "Girls" and I really liked the ending. A good series, not amazing but not vulgar.
I rate the whole series 3,5 stars outta 5

Now onto the tv shoe "Serial Experiments Lain" and the new season of "Humans"

Watched The Great Wall (2016) with Matt Damon. I usually like Matt Damon films but I was disappointed with this one. Damon was fine, but the story was thin & way too much CGI.

I'm actually quite surprised cause i really enjoyed the wall way more than i anticipated

Fate of the Furious 8/10 you would think after 7 movies and loosing one of the franchises main stars it would loose its steam but this one was fantastic imo. great action, great humor, great cast

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot 1/10  just boring and horrible from the start, i couldn't get into this at all and i tried really hard, i may try again but has it stands this one i didn't like at all.

The X-Files Season 10

My wife was totally enthralled with the original TV series & watched every episode. When this new series came out, she naturally wanted to see it. I had my doubts. My doubts became reality. I won't offer spoilers & without spoilers, it would be hard to explain why I didn't like it. Neither did my wife, BTW.




No, it's not listed on iMDB. It's available online at Fox & on Amazon, vudu & other streaming services. It's six 44 minute episodes, so at least it's not a massive investment of time.

No. It isn't a slasher. It's a very well made movie. Everyone should watch it. It has very little no none blood at all.
This is a serious film. It's not a comedy. I liked it a lot. A lot

Thanks for the info. A pity the trailer really makes it seem like it is a slasher. Good to hear it isn't.
I was impressed by the premise of the story and I was hoping that there was more substance to it. Something about it has me intrigued and I think it's the actor Pruitt Taylor Vince. I liked the way he portrayed his character in Constantine even though it was only a small part.
Now to try and find it and on what media so I can watch it.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man tell no tales 9/10
still a great series and i love the tie ins to the other films. nice to see some of the original cast come back.

Wonder Woman 9/10 really i have no complaints, except the main villain it was great and it was awesome to see Wonder Woman in real action. using her powers and kicking more butt than in BVS.

Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Nothing especially great about it, but the visuals are very good, there's enough action to keep you awake & it's relatively short, so before you can get bored, it's over. No gratuitous nudity. No wet T-shirts. No romance. No hot chicks. Not much mystery. Some foul language & the expected blood letting.

Well, we tried the new Prison Break (season '5'). Same characters, different prison, new problems to work out. Nothing very compelling. We got through the first 5 episodes & I asked my wife, who really liked the original series, if she wanted to continue & she said, "NO". The new season is filmed with that crappy shaky cam. It puts her to sleep. I've been fussing about the fact that they never pick up any of the firearms that are dropped by the bad guys they kill & always end up in a new tight spot, with no weapons. It's clearly deliberate & it's just plain stupid. SO, on to the next.

I forgot to mention that Michael now seems to find any excuse to break into tears. That was another thing that really bugged my wife about this season. It really put her off. Sorry for the spoiler, folks.

I think we'll try out The Fate of the Furious (2017), tonight. I'll let you know.

Prison Break (Season 5)

Yup same here, I watched a few of the first episodes and could tell is was going to be more of that same drivel they had spiraled down into in season three and four.

I too liked the first season and was fairly OK with the second, after that it just kind of took a rocket-sled to Crapville.

Finally watched this one last night. Overall, it's better than some of the earlier ones & almost as good as the best. It's worth watching on several points.

In the Heart of the Sea (2015) 3/10 just wasn't for me the movie defiantly wasn't so much about moby dick has it was the whalers

The Revenant (2015) 1/10 how this movie was Oscars is beyond me the only two good tings was the bear attack and tom hardys supporting role.

The Magnificent Seven (2016) 9/10 such a great western absolutely loved it

Last Man Standing (Tim Allen) Seasons 1-6 10/10 such a funny show and it didnt get boring and slow down once

Going in Style 6/10 not a bad movie, its a fun one time watch

Kong: Skull Island 8/10 pretty good movie and an enjoyable reboot to the franchise
