I'll always watch a new Star Trek film, even though they generally put me to sleep, but I'm not sure I can handle another series. I'll have to wait & see what the reviews are like.

Me too, I'm less inclined to watch TV shows but you never know it may only be 8 episodes, just a healthy mini-series, after all that is what they call a season today LMAO.

My earlier comment was poorly stated. I generally prefer a series, these days. I just don't think a Star Trek series can grab me. I got bored with all the others, like DS9, though it was the best of the attempts. I never could get into TNG, at all. I just didn't like the characters.

I feel that same way about most all new TV series, they so rarely bring anything new or interesting to a show. After you watch most of them for 3-4 episodes, then that old Déjà vu feeling starts to creep in or they are just flat-out too boring to bear lol.

OMG, that better happen and sooner than later!!! Unlike you guys, I watched every single TV Series of Star Trek and loved them all, even the series that came out which was done by a private company. It was cheesy, but loved it just the same. I can't wait for this one to happen! Woot, woot!

As per Wikipedia: "Star Trek Discovery is set to debut on CBS with a two-part premiere in "fall" 2017, before moving to All Access. The first season will consist of 15 episodes."

I'm with you Chouette.  I too enjoyed all the series to date.  DS9 being my favorite and the four seasons of Enterprise being my least.  I hope this one does well.  Netflix will be broadcasting this everywhere except the USA.  Sucks for me.

I had no problem viewing Dodgy's trailer, but thanks for the additional ones 2getted. So are you a Trekkie fan or not?

Now I'm definitely a fan of Sci-Fi when it's done well, but a Trekkie - well not that far I guess. Although I have seen and do own just about everything Star Trek that's been on film and TV, I don't own a costume or speak Klingon. I also have Babylon 5 and the spin-off Crusade, Farscape, SG-1 and it's spin-offs Atlantis and Universe, Firefly, BSG and spin-off Caprica, plus many more. I even have Blake's 7 and Space 1999 ....
 

As for Star Trek, I found DS9 fair but OK, Voyager alright then good, and I even liked Enterprise, but my preference would be TNG. To quote The Big Bang Theory "Original Series over Next Generation but Picard over Kirk". I've even watched the fan made films Star Trek: Of Gods and Men and Renegades and didn't mind them (you can find the full movies on YouTube). So I'll definitely watch this new series and will get it when it becomes available.

Hmmm, maybe I am a Trekkie after all.

So CBS gives us a taste for free, then to watch the full series you will have to purchase a CBS All Access subscription. For the rest of us outside the US & Canada it will only be available 24hrs later on Netflix.
