The truth is out there and Agent's Mulder and Scully will continue to search for it in another season of The X-Files! Thar's right, The X-Files will be back for a 10-episode eleventh season! How freakin' cool is that!

Fox has been trying to work out deals with series creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson since the series revival premiered last year. Well, they managed to work everything out because their all coming back to continue the story of these characters.

The X-Files is one of my favorite series of all time so I'm beside myself with excitement right now! FBC president David Madden had this to say in a statement regarding the return of the series:

   “Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators — these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”

There's no other information to share regarding the series right now, but I can't wait to see what crazy situations that Moulder and Scully find themselves in next!

I had high expectations for season 10. It started out well and some episodes even reminded me of the early X-Files episodes but it was too rushed. Six episodes was not enough to cover what they did and I felt that the way it ended was just annoying. But in saying that, of course I'm looking forward to a new season.

My wife was totally into the original series & still quotes parts of it. It was OK, but I never got as into it as she did. I haven't seen season 10, yet. I'll have to get it for her. We prefer DVD to streaming. I'll only stream things I don't expect to want to watch again, but she'll want permanent copies of this.

I loved all the originals. Didn't watch season 10 either, but have every intention to do so eventually. I will definitely get this 11th season once on disc!

I'm in!!!! Love this series but so sick of these 10 or fewer episode seasons. Remember back in the day when we were given 25+ a season. Those days are gone!

You are correct, those days are certainly gone for most series!
