OK, for a movie, it would have to be Waterworld (1995). After that, I'd have to pick Heaven's Gate (1980). Both were horribly panned by the critics, but I love them both & will always stop to watch them if they appear on cable. I'll even dig out the DVDs occasionally.
For a series, I'd have to say Roswell (1999-2002). My wife & I watched the entire run of this series, though I thought it was silly & crappy, I still sat through all of it. To this day, I can't imagine why & it embarrasses me to no end.

Can I stick to the movies I hated but were rated (too) high? I did the opposite of what you wanted but still, I want to stick to those, so I will!
:-O

Are you sure you haven't got The Arrival (1996) confused with Arrival (2016)?
Interesting point, The Arrival and Independence Day, both about aliens from other worlds came out in theaters in the same year, 1996. Then 20 years later in 2016, Independence Day: Resurgence would come out in theaters as well as another alien visitation movie coincidentally called Arrival. The Arrival poster.jpgArrival poster.jpg
