The original with Charlton Heston is a classic & a holiday staple in my family. I'll have to give this one a run, just to compare it to its venerable predecessor.

It looks like it could be good.  The original was very good.  I'll have to try not to compare as I'm sure that will ruin this one for me.

I haven't been to keen on seeing this as the reviews were less than flattering and the theater turnout was very poor, it lost money at the box.  I may watch it at some point but I'm in no hurry to do so.

I'm in for this one, and agree with Vince. I will not compare both, and that shall be quite easy as I don't remember a darn thing about the first one, lol

Planning to see this one in the next few days. I like comparing films & their remakes, like True Grit (1969 & 2010), The Flight Of The Phoenix (1965 & 2004) & The Great Gatsby, which has been done 5 times, since 1926. I have the ones from 1974, 2000 & 2013. My wife & I watched all three Gatsbys one night, just to see how they compared. It was really interesting & surprisingly engaging, not boring at all. Not being fans of the really old films, we didn't bother with the ones from 1926 & 1949, though I am still kinda curious & may seek them out, one of these days.
