TV show won't make any difference, they have dropped the ball to many times now in their rush to grab cash they forgot to make films someone might care about.
The die-hard fans will always remain but they make up a small percent of the overall ticket sales, which is what they found out the hard way with this last crop of failures.
The plan seems to be at this point to starve the fan base, in hopes they will eat any plate of crap served them when next they poop out a new film...
We will see how that works out, I've lost all faith in Disney to make Star Wars films period.
The problem as I see it is not the number of films they made in a short time but the junk stories they decided to tell and the big goof was the idiots they put in charge of overseeing their creation.
Just like the Hobbit, which was another colossal failure on a top franchise, they were too afraid to leave the old characters behind and make a new film series based on completely new characters and adventures, that they just made total junk by writing the old actors into story arcs that are pointless and no one cares.
The best new film was Rogue One becasue it retained none of the baggage from the original series.
I don't have much hope for them though as it seems they are only interested in telling boring origin stories about existing worn out characters of which this is just one more lame example, doomed to fail.
