Bill Skarsgård must enjoy working on Stephen King projects! He recently played Pennywise the Clown in the upcoming adaptation of IT. Now he's joined the cast of King's new Hulu project Castle Rock, which is also being produced by J.J. Abrams.
According to Variety, Skarsgård will play "a young man with an unusual legal problem." We'll just have to wait and see what this "unusual legal problem" turns out to be. He will join the previously cast Sissy Spacek, André Holland, Jane Levy and Melanie Lynskey.
Castle Rock” is described as "a psychological-horror drama set in the Stephen King multiverse that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine, has served as the setting for many of King’s books, including Cujo, The Dead Zone, and The Body."
Production on Castle Rock starts later this year and it's expected to premiere in 2018. This is on of my most anticipated TV project because I'm such a huge fan of Stephen King's universe. The fact that we are getting a series that connects this universe is pretty awesome!
Not a fan of King. He has written some great books but the majority are not to my liking. They also tend not to make for very good cinema. I'll not be waiting in anticipation for this one.
