The fifth season of Samurai Jack will begin March 11th on Adult Swim! Polygon says the fifth season will be 10 episodes wrapping up the popular series that aired on Cartoon Network in the 2000s. For those who haven't been following the development, the series will be notably more gory and adult themed than the original run of the series.

I'm very excited to see the conclusion of the series, but the angry geek inside me is screaming and asking why we only get 10 more episodes! I guess we should just be happy with what we're getting. I'm hoping Adult Swim starts running the original series leading up to the new season so we can catch up! It's been so long since I've seen an episode!

Didn't mind these short animations. Very different, seems childish but sort of isn't. I liked the recurring role of the Scotsman. But with iconic Mako Iwamatsu who voiced Aku no longer with us how could they get a replacement for that unique voice.

I'm lucky enough to have all the episodes on DVD. Might just have to watch them again. That theme music does tend to stick with you after you hear it a few times.

You're right, ten episodes is just not enough. Maybe a movie then,...

Big fan of this but I did not know the actor who voice Aku died. Bummer!

Too true. It occurred during the animated series Avatar The Last Airbender where he voiced General Iroh.

As well as his numerous voice acting roles and movie and TV roles, Mako had even fought Bruce Lee on the TV show The Green Hornet.

Greg Baldwin replaced Mako Iwamatsu as General Iroh for the rest of the series Avatar The Last Airbender and his voice is pretty close but sounds younger and not as gritty. See what you think:
