hey guys and gals its been forever since i posted a wip. I've been trying to come with an original design for kickboxer vengeance rather than just go the poster art route. but I'm stumped. I've been trying and trying and the furthest i got was placement and even that I'm unsure of. i was hoping all you creative geniuses could give me a hand and decent resources are limited for this movie.

I'd like to see the title up top behind the big guys head, and make it larger, you might have to move him down a little but obscuring a little of it with his head would be OK.

For what it's worth, I agree. That title would really pop up there in the black. Nice start!

tried a few things, looking better ? still need to get skin tones to match properly having a few issues there

Think that background is way too busy and needs to be simplified, as it is it interferes with the title and cast text.

I feel the angle of the background looks a little weird as the angle of the guys is different to it...

the background is from a still in the fight arena, any suggestions ?, the whole movie takes place in Thailand

You could rotate the background image a little and possibly add a guassian blur so it's not in focus?

Make it have less impact, reduce it to a single color or two, contrast mask it down (ie less range from light to dark - bring that range closer together make it more neutral), maybe add texture over the whole thing or some blur or both.

Or you could consider just a more basic background that won't compete at all with your character focal point like

maybe a nice landscape pic of Thailand. just make sure that there is enough sky, so the actual ground
would be mostly behind the characters.

I prefer a less busier background as well where the Title Treatment (or any writings for that matter) is added.

I like the idea, except the texture used in the front of the characters. That's just throwing the cover of the game.
Or like CT mentioned...  reduce it to a single color or two, maybe add the texture over the whole background instead.

Not exactly the cleanest clean up job, but hopefully it gives you an idea to work with.

I like this new direction a lot better RR, couple of suggestions one I think the characters need to be toned down some they are very red also moving the contrast up on them will help them pop better.

Last I'd warm up the colors in background and title some too.

Just a quick example made from your preview of what I mean.

Yeah much better now but maybe reduce the contrast on the two guys. Also maybe they could be increased in size so the bigger guys hair just overlaps the word vengeance?
