Hitman Agent 47

Postby ctaulbee » Dec Fri 04, 2015 7:03 am

I watched Hitman Agent 47 with low expectations, due to me being one of those who liked the first film and feared that number two might fall short without the return of Olyphant.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the new film, I would give it 7 of 10.

Crimson Peak (2015)

When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever.
Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.
From the imagination of director Guillermo del Toro comes a supernatural mystery starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam (C) Universal

Rating:            R (for bloody violence, some sexual content and brief strong language)
Genre:            Horror
Directed By:    Guillermo del Toro
Written By:      Guillermo del Toro, Matthew Robbins, Lucinda Coxon
Runtime:         1 hr. 59 min.

Universal Pictures - Official Site

A gothic horror film with many twists.
Crimson peak is a tale of greed and deceit, Chastain's performance was marvellous and the production design was superb.
Guillermo del Toro's direction and atmosphere are as swift and wonderful as ever.
Though I would say the running time was rather long and many scenes could have been shortened before the climax.
Not really scary, but fun to watch anyway.

I give it 6,5/10

The Condemned 2 1/10 horrible sequel and very boring, didn't have nearly as much excitement as the one with Steve Austin

12 Rounds 3: Lock down 2/10 it was better than condemned2 but ti was still a crappy movie and Dean Ambrose is not the greatest actor wwe as to offer. The first 12 Rounds with John Cena is way better

Santa's Little Helper 4/10 another wwe film that just wasn't good

The Martian (2015)

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew.
But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet.
With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring "the Martian" home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission.
As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney's safe return.
Based on a best-selling novel, and helmed by master director Ridley Scott, THE MARTIAN features a star studded cast that includes Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover. (C) Fox

Rating:            PG-13 (for some strong language, injury images, and brief nudity)
Genre:            Science Fiction & Fantasy
Directed By:    Ridley Scott
Written By:      Drew Goddard
Runtime:         2 hr. 14 min.

20th Century Fox - Official Site

I'm amazed by how incredible this movie is.
Matt Damon's performance was great. As are the locations.
If you had told me this movie was shot on Mars, I would have believed you.
An incredibly fun and thrilling film, A true return to form for Ridley Scott.
Everything that happen to bring Matt home seemed like this could happen.
Kept your interest the whole time.
I really like this movie, I will watch it again, several times lol

I give it 9/10

The Intern (2015) 9/10 Fantastic movie i loved it. just didn't like the ending felt too open for my liking otherwise i would give it a 10

Steve Jobs (2015) 5/10 honestly ppl are praising this over Ashton kutchers but i liked kutchers version better. this one was kinda all over the place and didn't really show where he started unlike the other one. it did massive time jumps and left out a lot imo

The Walk (2015)

The Walk is the true story of a young dreamer, Philippe Petit,
and a band of unlikely recruits who together achieve the impossible:
an illegal wire walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers.
With little more than nerve and blind ambition, Petit and his ragtag crew overcome daunting physical obstacles, betrayals, countless close calls and overwhelming odds to beat the system and execute their mad plan.

Rating:            PG (for thematic elements involving perilous situations, and for some nudity, language, brief drug references and smoking)
Genre:            Drama, Action & Adventure
Directed By:    Robert Zemeckis
Written By:      Philippe Petit, Robert Zemeckis, Christopher Browne
Runtime:         2 hr. 03 min.

Sony Pictures - Official Site

I was really surprised by The Walk.
Visually and emotionally powerful, the acting all around was fantastic.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt was really charming and charismatic as Philippe Petit.
The rest of the supporting cast all gave good performances.
The Walk is a brilliantly crafted love letter to a man with amazing passion and his towers.
As for suspense, especially if you are not fond of heights, "The Walk" makes "Everest" look like a bump in the road.

I give it 8,0/10
