Backing up DVDs

Now that I have small grandkids visiting frequently, I would like to back up some of my Disney DVDs. I use a Mac, so I would like to know what is the best backup program to use. I don't want this topic to get into any "Legal" issues. I simply want some help :)

I use SMART CONVERTOR from the App Store make sure you get the free one if you try it,

works for me.

I've heard that handbrake is really good.
