Annapurna Pictures has released the first trailer for The Sisters Brothers, the upcoming dark-comedy-western from director Jacques Audiard!

Based on Patrick Dewitt's acclaimed novel of the same name, follows two brothers - Eli and Charlie Sisters - who are hired to kill a prospector who has stolen from their boss. The story, a genre-hybrid with comedic elements, takes place in Oregon in 1851. The film is Jacques Audiard's follow-up to his Palme D'Or Winning DHEEPAN, which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.

Directed by Jacques Audiard who also penned the script with Thomas Bidegain
Stars Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, Jake Gyllenhaal, Riz Ahmed

Rides into town theaters later this year.

I don’t particularly like western and neither do I like most comedy, but I do LOVE the cast and the trailer is very promising. If this is any good, there might be hope for Jake Gyllenhaal after all. Crossing my fingers.

Prepare to be disappointed, in spite of my best efforts to like this, it was just not meant to be.

It's hard to say exactly where it failed because the idea was good, some of the film is good but then there is the rest of it...

Taken as a whole I feel I wasted many minutes of my life on it.
