Storyline

Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Well I'm in. I love these kinds of films.

Well movies like this do suit a purpose. Sometimes it's the only way to get a message across to kids.
Made me think of the 1985 movie Mask and in saying that I think the facial deformity with this movie is a bit underdone for the role. Also it looks like with this film they've utilised the "perfect" parents and it seems just too staged for me.

Edit: We have a half hour doco series here on ABC called "You Can't Ask That" which asks groups of misunderstood, judged or marginalised Australians the awkward, inappropriate or uncomfortable questions you've always wanted to know the answers to, but always been too afraid to ask. I mention this as one of the episodes was on Facial Difference and gives you a more realistic understanding than a Hollywood production.

Yeah, it immediately reminded me of Mask (1985), too. Just another movie based on a concept that has already been done (& probably done better, the first time.)
