Well this has went into a tailspin last two episodes has derailed into some variation of Transcendental Meditation crap, they seem to be trying to take the show into a slow dramatic place, the killing has all but stopped, no blood, my god what a gip.
They need to get back on track, this self discovery, inner journey, dream sequence crap is getting old quickly...
It's always pretty obvious when a writer crew has lost inspiration & is marking time until they come up with something. They always revert to introspection & hand wringing soul searching, usually peppered heavily with dream sequences, fantasy reveries & flashbacks. That's when, if it lasts for more than 1 episode, I flat out give up & move on.
I think it's probably cost driven, huge action sequences like they have in this which feature multiple characters on screen at the same time are expensive to make.
The show is basically about warring factions so it's hard to do without a lot of fight sequences.
Lately it seems they are looking for ways to cut production costs to me, by keeping on screen cast numbers down, location shots to a minimum, that type of thing, either coasting to a big finish or waiting to die...
Update, they got back on track pretty quickly, I guess they were just wanting to get that little bit of the story line in there, took about two episodes of time though - half of one - all of the next - half of a third...
