Q&A: How do I Edit a PNG Index Mode Image

I have a PNG Image in index mode.

How do I get this to unlock and become editable?

Moving the lock to the trash doesn't work.

In fact every option is grayed out.

Have you tried changing the colour mode to RGB or any other mode?

Your file has indexed colors.  Like sauron said, select RGB at 8 bits.
