There are batch modes... very good to rename but I would not use it to reduce weight of jpg file as most of them do not have the same specs.

Not that I know of.

XnView (has a Multi-Platform Application for Windows/Mac OS X/Linux) it will do the same thing and it's freeware (donation supported).

ACDsee (has a mac version) will do the same thing but it's not free.

That's the price to pay for owning a Mac. ;)

Alright, so there are batch modes, which I have no clue what this means. What else does it do that I won't understand? lol

IrfanView is a favorite Freeware Program of millions of users.

As the name indicates, it is an image viewer, not a photo-editor (is not a Photoshop substitute by any means), but the program can do some simple common tasks like batch-renaming or resizing of files.

It's uses will be very limited for the average user, especially anyone who can use Photoshop, except for like making saved files smaller.

Ah ok, then I'll use it for making saved files smaller as it does a really good job at doing this. What I like about it, is that it's simple to do with very few steps.
