What is the most common Blu-Ray case size?
I see a mix of 3118x1748 12.5mm spline and 3173x1762 11mm spline
which is the most common in the U.S.?

Depends on where you live in the US we mostly get 12.5 or 3118 cases (most of my factory cases are Elite 12.5mm cases) if you live in Europe they get mostly the 11mm or 3173 size.

If you are buying aftermarket cases then you can buy either one.

There is not a huge difference in the overall size, big thing is the spine if the spine is not defined like many on mine where the art spans and you keep the title small under 10mm then the cover will in fact fit either case.

We are talking pixels here not inches so 3173 vs 3118 is only 55 pixels total or @ 300 dpi that's a printed width of just over 4.6mm so not very much difference really, just the spines that is the big difference but shows up only if the spine is defined with clear transition lines on each edge and then you put the wider one in the thinner case well it will overlap the edges of the spine a bit, if you put the thinner one in the wider case then it will have a little border on each side.
